New dates for all professional first aid courses.

From one-day First Aid at Work or Blended Paediatric in your school, to two-day Outdoor First Aid Courses for professionals working outdoors with people of all ages, you can find a course that meets your professional requirements and personal interests here. All courses are accredited by ITC First and awarded through ActFast First Aid. Level 3 certificates are valid for three years. We are now in our 3rd year of summer intensive courses and have catered to colleagues from America to Turkey, and Switzerland to Swindon!

Our intensive training has been designed to meet the needs of international colleagues travelling from other countries and UK residents who prefer an in-depth face-to-face learning experience; our experiential workshops have been condensed into three weeks with timetabled self-study days. Stonesfield Primary School celebrates 6 years as a Recognised Provider

I have been running Forest School in Oxfordshire at Stonesfield since 2016, and the school gained Forest School Association Recognised Provider status in 2020. Children at the school attend Forest School every week for 5 out of their 7 years at primary school. In 2024, with a generous grant from the Friends of Stonesfield School, we were able to expand our site to nearly double the size, and since then the children have been involved in planting trees, creating dead hedges and wildlife corridors, sowing wild flowers and of course, enjoying the space!

Nature NOW – Play and Explore, Witney

Nature NOW – Play and Explore, Witney

Thanks to the generosity of Witney Town Council and the support of Carl Whitehead, Biodiversity and Green Spaces Officer, we have now run 2 rounds of 6 morning sessions (despite the weather!) playing and exploring in nature with young children and their families and childminders in and around Ducklington Lake and Mill Meadow. Nearly 70 children attended over all the sessions. The play and explore sessions were run by two qualified and experienced Forest School Leaders. It’s been great to see the children grow through the seasons, and to catch up with old friends and trainees from our Forest Kindergarten training course.

The Nature NOW project was originally set up by Where The Fruit Is and Oxfordshire County Council to counter the effects of the pandemic which restricted small children and their carers’ access to spending time together in nature. Nature N.O.W. (Nurturing Our Wellbeing) helps children and adults across Oxfordshire, whether parents, carers or Early Years educators, grow with and in nature. Thank you to all the Year 2s, past and present, for many fabulous Forest School memories with you at Freeland Primary.

We started in October 2019 as a small nurture group, then expanded to each year group having taster sessions and working with priority children at school during the pandemic, to weekly Forest School sessions for all Year 2s in your brilliant local woodland. Support for Forest School from staff, families and the local community has gone from strength to strength with regular volunteers from the local community, as well as experienced school staff learning and playing together.

I wish you lots more fun and learning in the woods as I move on and you welcome your new Forest School Leader.
